Warriors coaching candidate Stan Van Gundy reportedly agrees to coach Pistons

One of the Warriors' top coaching choices to replace Mark Jackson is off the market.

Stan Van Gundy, who, according to reports, interviewed with Golden State on Monday, agreed to terms on a 5-year, $35 million deal to become the president and coach of the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday, ESPN reported. An official announcement is expected to come later this week.

Having control of player personnel reportedly is one of the factors that led Van Gundy to pick Detroit instead of Golden State.

Yahoo Sports reported the Warriors flew to Oklahoma City on Tuesday to make one final pitch to Steve Kerr to become their coach. Kerr was in Oklahoma City to broadcast the Thunder-Los Angeles Clippers playoff game for TNT.

Kerr has been reported to be the front-runner for the New York Knicks' job for weeks, but has yet to agree to a deal with the team.

The Warriors fired Jackson on May 6.
