USF men’s basketball falls to San Diego State in championship game of Diamond Head Classic

University of San Francisco’s men’s basketball team made it to the championship game of the Diamond Head Classic over the holiday by beating the University of Utah and Illinois State in consecutive days.

On Christmas Day, the Dons fell to San Diego State, 62-48.

“All in all, I thought we showed the confidence we could play against some really good programs but we have to put it behind us and get back to work,” head coach Kyle Smith said. “We’re very young but I think our confidence got a boost this week and hopefully we can take some momentum into conference play.”
