UPDATE: 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith arrested on suspicion of DUI, hit-and-run

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of hit-and-run, driving under the influence and vandalism, according to the Santa Clara Police Department.

Smith was on probation after pleading no contest last year to three illegal gun charges and two DUI charges in Santa Clara County.

He was booked into jail this morning on $26,000 bail, according to jail records.

Smith posted bail and was released from county jail around 8:30 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office.
