Stanford's Clayton knocked out

The dream season for Stanford freshman Alex Clayton ended when he was eliminated from the NCAA men’s tennis tournament by top-seeded Somdev Devvarman of Virginia 6-4, 7-6 (3) in the semifinals. Clayton (30-9) jumped ahead of the defending singles champion with an early 3-1 lead in the first set, but some costly errors cost Clayton the set — and eventually the match.
