Sports briefs: Niners sign former Eagle

The 49ers signed veteran defensive lineman Sam Rayburn, who’s spent his entire career with the Philadelphia Eagles. Rayburn, entering his fifth year, has played as a reserve for most of his career and played in all 16 games for the Eagles during their Super Bowl run in 2004. He’ll participate in the team’s organized activities to try and earn a backup spot.

NBA Finals shifts over to Cleveland

Despite seeing their Cavaliers down 2-0 in the NBA Finals, Cleveland fans should get rowdy in today’s Game 3 of the best-of-seven series with the San Antonio Spurs. It will be the first time the city is hosting an NBA Finals, and while fans are geared up to cheer their team on, the Cavs must find a way to stay consistent and not wait until the end of the game to get hot. “We have to find a way to pick up our intensity and carry on what happened in the fourth quarter into the rest of the game,” Cavaliers star LeBron James said.
