Sacred Heart Cathedral has sights set of state title game

The Sacred Heart Cathedral girls’ volleyball team is just one victory away from playing for a state championship, but standing in its way is an all too familiar opponent.

The Fightin’ Irish will meet West Catholic Athletic League foe Valley Christian (San Jose) in the CIF Northern California Division III finals tonight, the fourth meeting of the season between the two teams.

Valley Christian has won the three previous meetings.

The winner of SHC-Valley Christian will meet the Southern California champ on Saturday with a state title on the line.

San Mateo County has one representative in a NorCal title game, as Menlo School (31-5) takes on Sonora (29-5) in the Division IV bracket.CIFPrep SportsSacred Heart CathedralValley Christian
