S.F. State men's soccer back at No. 5

A week after dipping to No. 6, the San Francisco State men's soccer team is back at No. 5 in the National Collegiate Soccer Coaches Association/adidas Division II Far West poll.

The Gators (5-3) split their weekend road games to open the California Collegiate Athletic Association season, falling to Cal State Dominiguez Hills 1-0 in overtime before blanking UC San Diego 2-0.

Seattle Pacific is No. 1 in the poll, followed by Seattle University, Sonoma State and Cal State Los Angeles.

SFSU opens a season-best eight-match homestand this weekend by hosting Sonoma State (Friday, 1:30 p.m.) and Humboldt State (Sunday, 2:30 p.m.) at Cox Stadium.
