SAN FRANCISCO — Houston Rockets center Dwight Howard appears ready to play in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals against the Golden State Warriors, though he's not ready to say as much.
Howard participated in half of the Rockets' shootaround Thursday in San Francisco with a black brace over his sprained left knee. During the portion of practice open to reporters, Howard worked on his post-up game — turnaround hook shots, short floaters and a few dunks.
Howard says he'll see how he feels Thursday night before deciding whether to play. He says the swelling and pain in his knee has subsided, and his main concern is not risking an injury that could sideline him for the rest of the playoffs.
The Warriors lead the best-of-seven series 1-0.
