Manning, Mauterer combine for second no-hitter

SF Preps Baseball: Marin Catholic tosses another combined no-hitter

The Marin Catholic Wildcats remained undefeated with a 6-0 win over Novato on Wednesday, and got yet another combined no-hitter from their pitching staff.

Once again, it was lefty Maxwell Manning who did the bulk of the work, striking out 11 and walking just two in his six innings of work. Just as it was two weeks ago, Cal commit Vaughn Mauterer, a senior righty, picked up the seventh in relief of Manning, striking out two.

Eli Larson and Mauterer both went 1-for-2 and each had a pair of RBIs in the game, and Brennan Paganini went 2-for-3 with a pair of singles and an RBI. Manning went 1-for-3 at the plate, and of his 85 pitches, threw 61 for strikes.

Marin Catholic is now 8-0 on the season, and 4-0 in MCAL play, with a home league game coming up today at 4:30 p.m. against Branson.
