Los Gatos' Walters honored

Former Los Gatos High School star Caroline Walters was named the West Coast Conference women's volleyball Player of the Week on Monday.

The senior libero earned her first weekly honor after eclipsing the school and WCC records for most digs in a career this weekend.

Walters' 34 digs in victories over USF and then-15th-ranked San Diego gave her 1,869 for her career. Lia Young of Santa Clara set the WCC record of 1,860 between 1990 and '93.

The Broncos (18-9, 10-1 WCC) return to action Friday at 5:30 p.m. when they travel to St. Mary's.
