Giants passed over in Silver Slugger voting

The MLB announced the winners of the 2016 Silver Slugger awards on Thursday. The San Francisco Giants were left out of the circle of winners.

Madison Bumgarner and Buster Posey won the honor the last two years but had relatively down years at the plate.

National League Silver Slugger recipients (offensive WAR):

C — Wilson Ramos, Nationals (3.5)

1B — Anthony Rizzo, Cubs (4.6)

2B — Daniel Murphy, Nationals (5.7)

3B — Nolan Arenado, Rockies (4.4)

SS — Corey Seager, Dodgers (6.1)

OF — Charlie Blackmon, Rockies (4.6)

OF — Christian Yelich, Marlins (4.6)

OF — Yoenis Cespedes, Mets (3.2)

P — Jake Arrieta, Cubs (0.8)

The Oakland Athletics were also shut out.
