Chip can never have just one (quarterback)

Chip Kelly says he’s a fan of Colin Kaepernick, Cal’s Jared Goff and now he maintains Blaine Gabbert is a quarterback worthy of being considered for starting, setting up a competition should the Niners keep Kap.

“Day 1 it’s a blank slate for the entire group. Let’s get out there and run around and see where it is,” Kelly told CSN Bay Area.

Coincidentally, published a column Thursday with the headline, “How Chip Kelly is a liar.”

The Stanford men’s basketball team announced it hired a new head coach, Jerod Haase, Friday.

Haase spent the last four years at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he led the Blazers to a 80-53 record.

Haase said in his introductory news release, “We will compete for championships by doing it the right way and graduating young men who will go on to accomplish great things in the world.”

One problem: I’m not sure that conclusion logically follows his premise in today’s NCAA. Best of luck to him nonetheless.

The Raiders will have to pay $925,000 more than they did last season to stay in Coliseum in 2016, according to a report in the Oakland Tribune.

The lease extension could provided the team two one-year options.

Meanwhile, the Las Vegas Sands casino group announced a proposal to build a stadium in hopes of wooing an NFL team.

“It’s not a done deal, but it’s at least possible,” said Sands president and chief operating officer Rob Goldstein, according to a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal. “… We’re no longer persona non grata with the NFL.”

A chill thing about being married to a reality star in 2016 is that you never have to worry about privacy because you won’t have any, as Jay Cutler learned earlier this week when his wife Kristin Cavallari revealed she expects him to get a vasectomy.

“I’ve pushed three babies out the old hoo-ha, I’ve done enough,” Cavallari said on SiriusXM’s Conversations with Maria Menounos. A problem shared is a problem solved, I suppose.
