CCSF swimmer breaks school record for 500 freestyle

Freshman swimmer Sophia Greco set a City College of San Francisco record for the 500-yard freestyle on Friday. Her time of 5:45.04 broke Cathryn Gibson’s mark from 2011. Greco beat the next closest swimmer by about 56 seconds. She also won the 50-yard freestyle and was a part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay group.

CCSF’s baseball team started its season with a 12-4 win over Contra Costa College on Thursday. Daniel Walsh threw six innings, allowing three runs. The Rams have had a hard time following up their successful debut, though, as their last two games have been canceled due to the weather.
