Bobcats targeting Higgins

The Charlotte Bobcats are having preliminary talks with Warriors general manager Rod Higgins about becoming their GM, a move that would reunite him with former boss Michael Jordan. Higgins, who was the Wizards’ GM under Jordan from 2000-03, has been the Warriors’ GM for the past three seasons, reporting to vice president of basketball operations Chris Mullin.

Wilson to remain Sharks’ coach

After weeks of contemplating, Sharks general manager Doug Wilson decided that despite his clear disappointment with what he considered an underachieving season, coach Ron Wilson will be back for another season in San Jose. Ron Wilson, along with assistants Tim Hunter and Rob Zettler, will have another chance to coax postseason success out of the Sharks despite losing in the Western Conference semifinals to Detroit. “This coaching staff will be back, and I’ll look forward to the work we’re going to do,” Doug Wilson said.
