The Oakland Athletics allowed three runs over the last two innings and lost to the Houston Astros on Monday, 4-2.

The young A’s impressed early as starter Jharel Cotton logged a quality start with a career-high six strikeouts and Ryon Healy hit a home run, his 11th in 60 games.

But the bullpen failed to close out the game as Ryan Madson ultimately blew a four-out save opportunity on a Marwin Gonzalez two-run single.

Today’s game will feature two young starters as Oakland plans to throw Sean Manaea against Houston’s Joe Musgrove.
