Todd Steverson has been promoted to manager of Triple-A Sacramento, the A's announced Thursday. He replaces Tony DeFrancesco, who was named the A's bench coach last week.
Steverson has been manager in the A's system the last three years, guiding Double-A Midland last season and Class A Stockton the previous two years. Under Steverson's leadership, Midland posted a 67-70 record and Stockton 147-133. He spent the 2004 season, his first with the A's, as hitting coach at short-season Class A Vancouver.
Having played in the majors for Detroit (1995) and San Diego (1996), Steverson coached in the St. Louis Cardinals' organization for four years.
