Academy of Art volleyballer re-writes school’s (short) history book

The Academy of Art volleyball team beat defending conference champion Dixie State on Friday. The match was made all the more special by Melissa Brum’s performance as she became the program’s all-time leader in career kills and points. She had already owns the claim as the first Urban Knight to log more than 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs earlier this year. She now has 1,325 kills with eight matches left to play.

The ART U women’s golf team won the Dennis Rose Invite last week. Junior Sterling Hawkins led the Urban Knights by finishing second overall. Hawkins earned PacWest Women’s Golfer of the Week for the fourth time in her career as a result.
