Picture Box: Tai Yick Trading Company

Chinatown is an epicenter for stores with unique and cultural goods to take back home when visiting San Francisco. One of those shops is located on the corner of Broadway and Powell Street. Tai Yick Trading Company has been open since 1945, selling colorful ceramics made in China. Foon Eng has worked there for over 20 years, after moving to Chinatown from Hong Kong in the 1970s. He enjoys reading Chinese newspapers like World Journal, while waiting to help customers with the various items sold inside the store.
