Picture Box: Fama the artist

Fama is a jewelry maker from Senegal. She sells her hand-crafted pieces at a sidewalk stand in downtown San Francisco. Fama moved to San Francisco 26 years ago, and currently lives with her family in Bayshore. Fama also sells traditional Senegalese dolls that wear African printed clothing and gourds on their heads.
