The Daily Outrage: Police officers shot, killed in coffee shop

WHAT: Four officers working on their laptops in a Tacoma, Wash., coffee house Sunday morning at the start of their shifts were shot dead in what police said appears to have been a targeted ambush.

WHY IT HAPPENED: Investigators were still searching for a possible suspect and trying to determine what had happened as of Sunday.

WHY IT’S A BAD IDEA: Stunned area residents are still recovering from the shooting death of a Seattle police officer last month and the firebombing of four police vehicles. The suspect in those attacks was shot by police and remains hospitalized.
