The Daily Outrage: Council member slain

WHO: The unknown man who killed Fairfield City Councilmember Matt Garcia

WHAT: The suspect in Monday night’s shooting remains at large. Police are mounting a massive manhunt for the attacker, described as a light-skinned black or Hispanic man in his late teens or early 20s, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build.

WHY IT’S A BAD IDEA: Any murder is a tragedy. Garcia’s age (22) and promise have made this one that much more shocking for his community.

WHY THEY DID IT: The motive remains unknown at this time.

WHERE TO VENT: A community viewing time will take place Monday from 5 to 9 p.m. at Liberty Christian Center in Fairfield, and a “Keep the Dream Alive” memorial will take place Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Armijo High School.OpinionOther Opinion
