Murdoch’s company spied on hacking victims’ lawyers

Rupert Murdoch’s British newspaper company admitted to spying on two lawyers representing alleged phone hacking victims of the now-defunct News of the World tabloid.

The BBC and the U.K. Guardian reported that the two lawyers were followed and filmed by a private investigator hired to gather evidence that could be used to discredit them.

The investigator revealed to the BBC that the surveillance even included filming one lawyer’s ex-wife and teen daughter while they went shopping.
