At long last, the salmonella outbreak appears to be over. The FDA has lifted its warning that consumers avoid eating jalapeños and Serrano peppers from Mexico — thought to be the most likely cause of at least 1,440 cases of food poisoning — but warned that there was no guarantee another outbreak would not occur.
