Richard G. Faria

September 5, 1934 – January 8, 2019
Resident of Walnut Creek.
On January 8, 2019, the life journey of Richard Gary Faria was completed. A native San Franciscan born on September 5, 1934, at the Presidio in San Francisco.
He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Jane. He is survived by his current wife, Mildred Florence, followed by his sons, Michael and Steven, his three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
He was an USMC Veteran. He had a long career at Metropolitan Life, which began in San Francisco and retired from in San Ramon. He was active in both his sons’ little league teams, managing, coaching and being an active board member. As any true San Franciscan he was an avid Giants and 49ers fan. In the later part of his life, after a short battle with lung cancer, he became an active speaker for the lung cancer society.
He was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. He was a true samaritan, first to offer a helping hand or assistance in whatever might be needed.
A viewing and services will be held on Monday, 1/14/19, starting at 1 pm, at Hull’s Walnut Creek Chapel, 1139 Saranap Ave., Walnut Creek, CA 94595. Reception information to be given at service.
