Perhaps he needed some money for a pair of real pants.

A young teenager reportedly wearing a red baseball hat and red pajama pants attempted to rob three people as they walked out of the Macy's store at 1 Serramonte Center in Daly City last week, according to police.

The suspect, described as a slender 15-year-old Filipino boy, along with an accomplice of the same age reportedly approached the victims just before 3 p.m. on Friday.

The teen told the victims to empty their pockets, police said, but the victims refused to cooperate.

The suspect tried to put one of the victims into a headlock, which failed. His accomplice then began assaulting that same victim, but the other victims intervened and in the end the two kids fled without stealing anything.

The teens were not found after a police search and there had been no arrest as of Monday.

Much of the Bay Area was under a flash flood watch on Sunday, with the National Weather Service warning of the potential for mudslides across the region. (NOAA via The New York Times)
