Young woman killed in early morning SF shooting

A 21-year-old woman was fatally shot early Wednesday morning in the Mission District, police said.

Officers responded to the shooting shortly before 3 a.m. to the 800 block of South Van Ness Avenue, according to police.

The woman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The suspect is described only as a male, and a black vehicle was also somehow involved, police said.

Further details were not immediately available.
