Young girl wounded in early morning shooting in Oakland

A 6-year-old girl was shot in Oakland early Tuesday morning, police said.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1600 block of Seminary Avenue near East 16th Street at 2:16 a.m.

The girl was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition, police said.

No suspects were in custody as of 5 a.m.
