Woman's body washes ashore at Bodega Bay

The Sonoma County Fire Department said it received a call at 8:11 a.m. today about a woman's body washing ashore near Scotty's Beach north of Bodega Bay.

The body could be that of 19-year-old Ann Madden of Petaluma who was swept into the sea at Portuguese Beach north of Bodega Bay Saturday afternoon when she and her fiance tried to rescue their dogs from the surf.

A Bodega Bay Fire Department spokeswoman said firefighters did respond this morning to a call about a body on shore at Scotty's Beach.
