A cab driver was robbed by a woman with a butter knife in the Tenderloin on Sunday, police said Monday.

The 43-year-old man driving the cab was in the area of Ellis and Hyde streets with the suspect, a woman in her 30s who was his fare, about 2:09 a.m., police said.

The woman told the driver to pull over and put a butter knife to his ribs and demanded all his cash.

The driver grabbed the knife and the suspect let go but she managed to grab the driver's bag from the front scene before fleeing the scene on foot, police said. The driver had a tablet in the bag.

No arrest has been made.
