Woman tries to burn man's face with aerosol can and lighter in the Castro

A woman tried to burn a man's face with a lighter and an aerosol can in the Castro on Sunday, police said Tuesday.

The 21-year-old man asked the 35-year-old woman for a lighter in the 400 block of Castro Street about 12:52 p.m. The woman pulled out an aerosol can and a lighter and then tried to burn the man's face by spraying the aerosol can into the lighter.

The man was not injured.

Prior to the incident, the woman had reportedly been in an argument with the man's friend, police said.

The woman was arrested, but her identity was not released.
