A woman was shot in the leg in an Outer Mission supermarket parking lot on Wednesday, police said.

The 28-year-old victim was leaving the supermarket with friends in the 2900 block of Alemany Boulevard about 7:30 p.m. when she was struck by gunfire, police said.

Pacific Supermarket is located at 2900 Alemany Blvd. Staff there this morning declined to comment on the incident.

She was struck in the leg and taken to the hospital for her injuries, which were not life threatening.

Police said Thursday afternoon that the victim was caught in the crossfire of two men who were shooting at each other, Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The suspects, both men, fled the area in two separate cars. One was a silver SUV and the other was a teal two-door hatchback, Shyy said. Both remain at large.
