Woman shot in leg in Bayview on Sunday

A woman was shot in the leg in the Bayview district Sunday, police said.

The 20-year-old shooting victim was in the 1400 block of Thomas Avenue with a 25-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man about 1:53 a.m. when two men who appeared to be in their 20s approached and pulled out handguns and started firing, police said.

The 20-year-old woman was struck in the leg before the shooters fled.

The woman was taken to the hospital, but her injuries were not life-threatening.

No further information was available as of Monday.
