Woman robbed of cellphone in the Tenderloin

A woman was robbed of her cellphone as she was texting in the Tenderloin on Wednesday, police said.

The 39-year-old was in the 200 block of Turk Street about 8:56 p.m. when a 19-year-old man snatched the phone from her hands and took off, police said.

The woman ran after the suspect and then officers took over the chase and arrested the man.

The woman’s phone was recovered.
