Woman kidnapped in SoMa, dropped off in Western Addition in stolen vehicle

A woman was briefly kidnapped in a stolen vehicle in South of Market on Sunday, police said.

The 33-year-old woman was with a 38-year-old man in the 700 block of Harrison Street about 2:32 a.m. She got into his running vehicle as the man went across the street to talk to some friends, police said.

At some point, he turned around and noticed his car had been driven away, police said.

The woman was then reportedly dropped off at the intersection of Turk and Buchanan streets in the Western Addition.

The vehicle was later discovered by the California Highway Patrol in Oakland, police said. It was towed back to San Francisco and impounded as evidence.

No injuries were reported, and as of Monday there was no detailed description of the suspect.
