Woman carjacked in Lower Haight

A woman was carjacked in the Lower Haight on Saturday, police said.

The 22-year-old victim was in her car in the area of Hayes and Webster streets about 7 p.m. when a man in his 20s armed with a handgun approached, police said.

The victim told the suspect the keys were in the car and ran away, police said.

She was unable to tell police what direction the suspect drove away in and also told police she was scared to report the incident at first and did not report the crime until Monday.

The car was described by police as a silver sedan.
