Woman assaulted while struggling against mugger

A 21-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed of her cellphone in the Tenderloin about 4:25 a.m. Wednesday while waiting for the bus at O’Farrell and Leavenworth streets, police said.

The victim reportedly struggled with the crook to no avail, and the suspect fled.
