Westfield Centre homicide victim ID’d

A man found dead inside the Westfield San Francisco Centre mall Wednesday morning has been identified as 28-year-old San Francisco resident Frank Galicia, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police received a call reporting a body found inside the mall at 865 Market St. at 10:15 a.m., according to police Officer Grace Gatpandan.

Medical examiner’s officials responded and determined the death was a homicide, according to police.

A statement from the Westfield Centre indicated the investigation was centered near the mall’s Jessie Street entrance. The mall remained open during the investigation.

Police have not released further details about the possible cause of death or any suspects as of Thursday morning.
