Westbound Highway 92 blocked by vehicle fire

A vehicle fire blocking the westbound lane of state Highway 92 east of state Highway 35 in unincorporated San Mateo County is slowing traffic on the westbound side of the highway, California Highway Patrol Officer Kevin Kroncke said.

The fire started in part of a vehicle, which is stopped in the westbound lane of Highway 92, Kroncke said.

There were no injuries caused by the fire and there is no estimated time of opening for the highway, according to Kroncke.

Traffic is severely backed up near the accident and drivers should consider alternate routes.
