Virgin mogul Branson marries pair

Sir Richard Branson performed a wedding ceremony Wednesday to launch Virgin America’s newest flight service from San Francisco to Las Vegas.

Coco Jones and Dimitrios Papa Dogouas tied the knot in the first-class cabin of a Virgin America flight headed to Vegas. Papa Dogouas is the director of marketing for Virgin; his new wife works for Yahoo.

The couple, who live in San Francisco, spent the first part of their honeymoon, naturally, in Las Vegas before heading out to Greece.

The airline also celebrated serving 100,000 passengers so far in the company’s first 63 days of operation.

The airline recently launched service from SFO to Las Vegas McCarran Airport.

Virgin America Chief Executive Officer Fred Reid, along with SFO airport director John Martin and Branson, founder and chairman of the Virgin Group, attended Wednesday morning’s ceremony at SFO.

Virgin America also offers flights from SFO to New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport, Dulles Airport in Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles International Airport.
