VIDEO: Muni riders evacuated near Van Ness Station

Muni trains stall every month, but it’s not often they stall so long that people must be evacuated.

That’s exactly what happened to riders Tuesday at 1 p.m. on near Van Ness Station, according to tweets from the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency.

Twitter user Eric Butler, @codebutler, caught the whole evacuation on video, offering a rarely seen on-foot glimpse into Muni’s tunnels.
