A man was hit with a pipe early Friday morning in San Francisco’s South of Market neighborhood, police said.
Someone called at 12:45 a.m. to report the assault at Eighth and Harrison streets.
Police said the victim and suspect were in a fight when the suspect picked up a metal pipe, chased the victim and hit him.
The victim was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man as a suspect in the assault.
