UPDATE: Man killed in Tenderloin shooting Thursday evening

A man was shot and killed in the Tenderloin just after 5 p.m. on Thursday evening, according to police.

The shooting was reported at about 5:15 p.m. on Golden Gate Avenue between Hyde and Leavenworth streets, police said.

A male victim was reportedly transported to a hospital but later died from his injuries.

Additional details were not available as of Thursday night.

The killing marks The City’s 58th homicide in 2016.
