UCSF LGBT Resource Center and Mayor Ed Lee honor Transgender Day of Remembrance

The UCSF LGBT Resource Center held a memorial and panel discussion Wednesday on the Transgender Day of Remembrance where a panel was asked to read the names of recent transgender victims of violence.

Mayor Ed Lee issued a statement discussing the 15th anniversary of the Day of Rememberance. “We remind all San Franciscans that transgender people are our family, our colleagues and our friends. We recommit ourselves to ensure that no one is subjected to violence, discrimination or hatred simply because of one’s gender identity.”
