Two women seriously injured in Sunset District balcony collapse

Two women were injured shortly after midnight Saturday when a third-floor balcony collapsed in the Sunset District, according to fire officials.

The balcony collapsed at 2020 Lawton St. between 26th and 27th avenues at around 12:06 a.m., the San Francisco Fire Department said on Twitter.

The women were taken to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital with serious injuries.

The Department of Building Inspection responded to evaluate the property.Bay Area News
