Two men were injured in a stabbing, one critically, during a melee in the Tenderloin early Tuesday morning, police Sgt. Danielle Newman said.
The two victims, ages 45 and 23, and a third person were reportedly confronted by a group of men in the 700 block of O’Farrell Street about 2:23 a.m.
The group instigated a fight in which the 45-year-old victim was stabbed several times in the torso. The 23-year-old victim also sustained puncture wounds or lacerations in the torso. The third victim was reportedly struck in the side of the head with a baseball bat, Newman said.
The suspects fled and no arrests have been made.
Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not provided to police.
The 45-year-old victim remains hospitalized in critical condition, while the 23-year-old victim is reportedly stable.
The victim struck with the bat did not seek medical treatment.
