Two men robbed in separate incidents in Golden Gate Park during 4/20 festivities

Two people were robbed by force in two separate incidents in Golden Gate Park on Monday during 4/20 festivities, police said Tuesday.

The first robbery occurred about 5:30 p.m. when five men approached a 23-year-old man and grabbed his marijuana, cash and back pack, police said. The men then assaulted the victim, severely beating him.

The victim sustained a fractured and dislocated jaw, broken finger and a laceration to his face.

There were few suspect descriptions in the case and no arrests have been made.

The second robbery happened an hour later, when one of the suspects in the robbery asked a 21-year-old male victim if he wanted to buy weed, police said. The victim said yes and gave the man some money, which he simply walked away with.

The victim followed and asked for his money back. But five other men then appeared and beat the victim up and took what remaining money he had, police said. The group then fled the scene on foot.

The men appeared to be in their 30s.

The victim sustained some abrasions to his face and was treated at the hospital.
