Woman, two others indicted in counterfeit purse case
DALY CITY — Three residents have been indicted with additional charges related to their alleged counterfeiting of brand-name merchandise.
Nancy Pua, her son Kevin Pua and Johnny Lee Tan are suspected of selling counterfeit designer merchandise such as handbags on an Internet auction site and in a store in Richmond called Label Love.
The Puas were originally indicted in January with one count of conspiracy, eight counts of mail fraud, five counts of wire fraud and several counts of trafficking counterfeit goods. Tan, whom the indictment names as Nancy Pua’s brother, was charged with one count of conspiracy and one count of trafficking counterfeit goods.
A subsequent indictment released this week alleges that Nancy Pua, 49, sold handbags that had counterfeit trademarks online and in the Richmond store. It now also charges Nancy Pua and Tan with conspiracy to commit money laundering.
All three were arrested in February but were released on bond.
