Tree branch snarls Park Presidio commute

A large tree in Golden Gate Park fell onto Park Presidio on Tuesday morning, blocking all three northbound lanes for about 35 minutes, officials said.

The tree topppled around 9:10 a.m. at Crossover Drive and Park Presidio, a section of state Highway 1 that winds through Golden Gate Park, fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said. The fallen tree was pulled off the road around 9:45 a.m., clearing the way for traffic, she said.

The Department of Public Works was headed to the scene to dispose of the tree, Talmadge said.
