Why bother with cash when you can have the whole register?
A tire-iron-wielding crook is being sought after he made off with the cash register from a Marina district gas station early Tuesday, police said.
The suspect, described only as a man in his mid-40s, entered the Valero gas station at Lombard and Broderick streets about 1:30 a.m. and threatened the clerk with a tire iron.
He then cut the wires attached to the cash register and fled southbound on Broderick Street in a four-door sedan, police said.
No arrest was reported.
