The grass is always greener at the bottom of a cocktail

The Neighborhood Parks Council is giving people an excuse to drink on Monday.

They're holding a fundraiser at Elixir Saloon in the Mission district Monday night, where the tips will go toward keeping open spaces safe and clean.

The nonprofit represents more than 120 park groups and has served as a watchdog, neighborhood liaison and protector of The City's parks since park advocate Isabel Wade founded it in 1996.

The bar will also throw in $1 donation for every Paulaner Hefeweizen or Red Bull cocktail. The party starts at 9 p.m.
